In collaboration with The British Chiropractic Association, Dr van Aardenne is encouraging people to incorporate a simple exercise routine into their daily lives . The three minute exercise program is for all ages, and is designed to help strengthen the spine and improve posture. The steps are simple, fun, and can be done on a daily basis as part of an everyday routine. Consumer research carried out by the BCA has found that 50% of 16-24 year olds are currently suffering from back pain compared to 18% just three years ago. We are fast becoming a nation of slouch potatoes and poor posture is a common trigger of back pain, along with other normal day to day activities such as housework, DIY, sleeping, sitting at a computer and playing computer games for extended periods of time. Bad posture has a lot to answer for - not only can it have a negative affect on your health but it could in fact also cost you that dream job, as posture is commonly associated with confidence and capability. People with poor posture can be associated with laziness, or a perceived lack of care about their appearance. |
